The Beirut explosion

On the 4th of August 2020, the Lebanese people witnessed a terrible explosion that left 300,000 people in the city of Beirut homeless, thousands of businesses burned down to the ground, buildings, cars and most of their personal belongings completely destroyed.

 

Around 6:00 PM local time of that day, 2750 tons of ammonium nitrates exploded in the port of Beirut due to the recklessness of storing extremely dangerous amount of explosive material in the heart of the capital city of Beirut without any proper safety measures. This devastating explosion left over 200 dead and more than 4000 injured.

 

This explosion added up to the severity of the situation which has been exacerbated by the economic crisis facing the country.

 

Today, many people in Beirut are homeless, unable to withdraw money from the banks due to the current economic crisis and banks restrictions, most of them have lost all their personal belongings, those people are in extreme need of your help in order to survive and rebuild.
